Youth Summer Residency Program
About the Youth Summer Residency
The Youth Summer Residency is an initiative that encourages young artists to explore art and develop their artistic skills.
The initiative is in collaboration with the Ministry of Education which hosts an annual Exhibition of The Visual Arts Creators and awards ceremony. The group of young artists who are awarded will be given the chance to participate in the Youth Summer Residency in Fire Station from 1st July – 30 August of each year. The program involves access to a group studio space where each young artist can work on their art pieces.
The program involves mentorship and guidance on daily basis, an opportunity to discuss art with established artists in the community, visiting museums and galleries to discuss and reflect on art as well as for inspirational purposes. An exhibition showcasing the artworks of these young artists will be hosted at a later date during the year.
